Special Session „Citizen Science”

The possibility of letting people participate in scientific research has gained increasing interest in recent years. This applies in particular to questions and problems that spatial data - contributed by citizens using desktop and/ or mobile applications - will help to solve. However, although (geo-) citizen science in principle offers numerous advantages (including cost and personnel savings, support with monitoring, coverage of larger areas) - the existing potential is not always fully exploited and the existing expectations are not always fully met will.

Submission

Contributions can be submitted as full paper or short paper until February 1, 2021 or as poster until May 1, 2021. Every contribution needs to be submitted via the conference submission website and will be subject to double-blind peer review. Authors of accepted full and short papers are invited to present and discuss their papers in the special symposium. For guidelines on submission, please visit http://www.gi-forum.org/call.
