Op dinsdagnamiddag 30 januari 2024 gaat opnieuw de LifeWatch Biodiversity Day door: een dag waar biodiversiteit centraal staat en wetenschap, burgers, beleid en industrie elkaar ontmoeten.  Dit jaar duiken we in de wereld van de taxonomie, we focussen op de wetenschap en de tools die gebruikt worden bij het ontdekken en benoemen van soorten. Boeiende sprekers dompelen je onder in diverse onderwerpen. Denk aan het belang van taxonomie voor biodiversiteitsbeleid, taxonomie in het digitaal tijdperk, en voorbeelden die deze wetenschap in de praktijk gebruiken. Kortom, een unieke kans om de laatste inzichten rond dit topic te krijgen! Kom je ook ontdekken, leren, netwerken en inspireren in de KVAB in Brussel?

De twee H2020-zusterprojecten INCENTIVE en TIME4CS organiseren op 1 november een gezamenlijke eindconferentie aan de Universiteit Twente in Nederland. Het evenement  volgt op de CS4H-conferentie en richt zich op de Europese citizen science community, met keynote-speeches en netwerkmogelijkheden. 

COESO en PRO-Ethics organiseren de conferentie "Connect.Collaborate.Create." die een brug slaat tussen ethisch participatief onderzoek en citizen science. De conferentie vindt plaats in Parijs (Frankrijk) tussen 19 en 21 oktober 2023 en zal een sterke focus hebben op de sociale en humane wetenschappen, maar verwelkomt ook onderzoekers en praktijk beoefenaars uit andere domeinen. 

The annual conference of the Citizen Science Association is a hybrid event with a lot of interesting online sessions. 

Under the motto "Citizen Science - Why (actually) not?" the 7th ÖCSK will take place in February 2022. The Call for Proposals is already online.
The 7th ÖCSK will take place from February 23 – 25, 2022 in Dornbirn (Vorarlberg) and thus in the four-country corner Austria-Switzerland-Liechtenstein-Germany. The event is open to researchers from all disciplines and backgrounds as well as Citizen Scientists. 

The Engaging Citizen Science Conference will promote knowledge sharing among the citizen science community. The aim of the conference is to engage citizen science researchers, practitioners, and citizens in sharing research, ideas, and innovations in order to make the field thrive and expand. The conference will be interdisciplinary in scope, inviting workshops, dialogue roundtables, posters, and demos from all main areas of research (natural and technical sciences, life and health sciences, and social sciences and humanities). The conference will be held on site on April 25-26th 2022 at the Conference Centre at Aarhus University, Denmark.

Van maandag 11 tot donderdag 14 oktober vindt de 19e editie plaats van de European Week of Regions and Cities, inclusief een workshop over citizen science en burgerparticipatie. Meer info vind je hier.

CitSciOz21, the 4th conference of the Australian Citizen Science Association – will take place as an online experience from 27 – 29 October 2021.

Centered around the themes of Celebrate, Communicate, and Co-Create, our virtual experience will ensure a highly interactive and engaging event, with the capacity to network with your fellow attendees, speakers, and sponsors as well as providing you with the learning outcomes and benefits you would come to expect from an in-person event.

In order to prepare our cities for a long-term post-pandemic recovery, new ways of working, living and learning are to be developed. This summer school aims to explore the potential of in-between spaces/places in this regard. Hybrid spaces, spaces in transition, boundary zones, places that are not (yet) defined, are in a state of becoming, yet to be built… will serve as the main topic and context of encounter throughout our one-week workshops-series. 

Scivil will take part as a keynote speaker at this event during the session on collaborative city-making on Wednesday Sept 15th at 12.30. 

De zomerschool 'Virtual Citizen Science Summer School: Transforming research through public participation' vindt online plaats van 14 tot 25 juni.

Deze zomerschool wordt georganiseerd door de Universiteit van Zürich en ETH Zürich en richt zich op jonge onderzoekers en citizen-sciencemedewerkers. De inschrijvingen zijn intussen afgesloten.
