About Scivil
Scivil is the Flemish knowledge centre for Citizen Science. Scivil wants more citizen science in Flanders and aims to accomplish this by uniting, supporting and informing scientists, citizens, institutions and companies.
Thanks to citizen science, citizens can contribute to scientific research and projects, regardless of their background knowledge. Scientists can get help from the public with carrying out scientific tasks, and at the same time citizens can learn the scientific process.
This is why Scivil wants to extend the citizen science community in Flanders and offer support to citizen science projects.
OUR GOALS
— Promotion of citizen science for scientists, citizens, companies and government.
— Uniting interested scientists and citizens, so that together they can build stronger, higher quality citizen science projects.
— Supporting project initiators before, during, and after the duration of their project.
WHAT WE DO
— Advising scientists, civil society and government agencies about citizen science.
— Supporting current citizen science projects.
— Organising workshops and networking events.
— Bringing citizen science towards the general public with events and a traveling exposition.
