This workshop will present key outcomes and lessons learned from projects that have successfully responded to various H2020 calls on improving air quality and urban mobility in European cities and reducing their carbon footprint, by enhancing citizen engagement. The findings will highlight the most successful strategies for engaging citizens in the transition to green smart cities, ranging from informing and consulting, to involving, collaborating and empowering, to enable the EU Green Deal transition. Op zaterdag 2 oktober 2021 organiseert Paleontologica Belgica de Paleontologica Belgica & Louis De Pauw Awardceremonie. Die dag worden twee awards uitgereikt; de Paleontologica Belgica Award en de Louis De Pauw Award.

Op 24 en 25 september staat Eurobioblitz 2021 op de planning, waarbij onderzoekers, scholieren en burgers foto's en observaties van wilde dieren ingeven in de app van iNaturalist.

In order to prepare our cities for a long-term post-pandemic recovery, new ways of working, living and learning are to be developed. This summer school aims to explore the potential of in-between spaces/places in this regard. Hybrid spaces, spaces in transition, boundary zones, places that are not (yet) defined, are in a state of becoming, yet to be built… will serve as the main topic and context of encounter throughout our one-week workshops-series. 

Scivil will take part as a keynote speaker at this event during the session on collaborative city-making on Wednesday Sept 15th at 12.30. 

Special Session „Citizen Science”

De Science Communication Summer School 'Let's Talk Science' vindt plaats van 5 tot 7 juli. Scivil zal er de workshop 'Design your own citizen science project' organiseren. 

Om lokale besturen te ondersteunen op het gebied van Citizen Science heeft Smart Flanders een traject rond Citizen Science opgestart. In het kader daarvan heeft PwC een marktverkenning uitgevoerd op dit domein. Het resultaat van deze marktverkenning is een overzichtelijk Beste Koop-model zijn van beschikbare toestellen met telkens een beschrijving van de plus- en minpunten.

Op 24 en 25 juni vindt de Future of Science Communication Conference plaats. De conferentie wordt georganiseerd door Wissenschaft im Dialog en ALLEA.
