amai! - citizen science and AI
The project 'amai!' (Flemish exclamation for 'wow!') engages citizens in the development of new AI solutions in Flanders. It does so by bringing together citizens, AI experts and other stakeholders. Amai! aims to inspire, inform and engage citizens around Artificial Intelligence in everyday life. In this way, we all contribute to innovation, participation and a sense of wonder in Flanders.
Amai! recently celebrated its fifth anniversary. As such, 2025 became a year to proudly look back on what we have achieved together, while also looking ahead to the future with a fresh perspective.
In 2026, together with FTI (Flanders Technology & Innovation), amai! will organise a large-scale citizen panel. We want to connect people with companies and research groups that are currently working on the AI innovations of tomorrow.
In addition, amai! continues to actively promote citizen participation within ongoing AI research.
