'NieuwsWijsNeuzen' ('News-Know-It-Alls') wants to make children (8-12 years old) more resilient against disinformation by focusing on news literacy, both on the side of (youth) journalists and on the side of children.

The project 'amai!' (Flemish exclamation for 'wow!') aims to involve citizens in the development of new artificial intelligence applications, by bringing together citizens, civil society organisations and AI-experts around 4 main themes (climate, mobility, health and work) and with an overarching theme of digital inclusion.

Within the Programme for Innovative Government Procurement (In Dutch: 'Programma voor Innovatieve Overheidsopdrachten' or 'PIO'), the Flemish government invests in innovative methods to address numerous societal challenges. UGent, in collaboration with Scivil, is developing a playbook within this programme for the deployment of a sensor network to map sound exposure.

Within the UNESCO IHP-IX programme and with support from the Department of Economy, Science and Innovation (EWI), Citizens4Water aims to establish a global inventory of citizen science initiatives for hydrology and water management. The inventory consolidates knowledge from existing projects, supports the development or enhancement of citizen science projects, and identifies gaps in hydrology and water management practices. The project takes place within the context of the ninth phase of the Intergovernmental Hydrological Programme of Unesco.
