- Workshop - Scivil event

FARO and Scivil invite you to a hands-on workshop where vague ideas for citizen science grow into a clear and feasible project. During this practical workshop, you will work together with other participants to develop an initial concrete outline for a citizen science project.

We’ll show you step by step how to:

  • sharpen your research question,
  • choose an appropriate method,
  • determine where and how participation will take place,
  • define roles, expectations, and conditions for your participants,
  • analyze target groups and their motivations,
  • design support, communication, and recruitment strategies.

You’ll start from your own idea or theme and develop it further using exercises, inspiring examples, and constructive feedback from other participants.

What can you expect from us?

  • Guidance by Jef, Saidja, and Jacqueline.
  • Interactive formats (brainstorms, card exercises, mapping, profile sketches).
  • A safe space to exchange ideas, doubts, and inspiration.
  • Time to shape your own trajectory and test it against practice.

This workshop is for heritage professionals who want to work with citizen science in their organization or activities. Do you have an initial idea, theme, or research question, but still need structure, methodology, and feasibility? And would you like to brainstorm with others? Then this workshop is exactly what you need.
