Amai! continues
Two months after the Night of amai!, we can finally share some good news: amai! will continue, in a renewed format. As a project of Scivil, amai! remains committed to actively involving citizens in the development of artificial intelligence in Flanders.
In the coming period, the focus will be on two main strands: a new call to strengthen citizen participation in AI innovation, and a strong presence at the technology and innovation festival FTI in 2026.
Amai! at FTI 2026
In 2026, the second edition of the Flemish technology and innovation festival Flanders Technology & Innovation (FTI) will take place. Amai! will be present to showcase how citizen participation can contribute to the development of AI.
Visitors will discover how citizens are already contributing to AI innovation today. In addition, amai! will organise a large-scale citizen panel, giving interested and engaged citizens the opportunity to reflect on the future of AI development in Flanders.
New call to support existing initiatives
With a new call, amai! aims to give an additional boost to citizen participation in AI innovation trajectories. Unlike previous calls, this will not be a traditional project call.
Instead, the focus is on strengthening existing or planned AI initiatives. Projects that wish to involve citizens in order to achieve more widely supported and socially relevant outcomes can receive support from amai!.
In this way, amai! builds on five years of experience in connecting citizens with AI development in Flanders.
