B & Bee
Did you know that there are 403 different species of bees in Flanders? All of these species hace different flower and plant preferences. B&Bee wants to ensure that people not only keep their garden 'bee-friendly', but also choose plants and flowers wisely, according to the local bees' preferences. With the help of citizen scientists, B&Bee conducts research on which species live where, and which flora they need.
The B&Bee project is developping a mobile app that determines which flowers and plants are best suited for your location and composition of your garden. This will help to support the 403 different kinds of wild bees. To determine which bees feel best at home in which garden, 250 citizen scientists will install a bee hotel in their garden and take samples on a regular basis.
