Follow the citizen science trail through Louvain-La-Neuve and become a driver of change! The trail can be visited from November 17 to 21, daily between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The EU-funded ECS project, in collaboration with the REA Agency (European Commission), is organizing a Cluster Event on "Advancing Public Engagement and Citizen Science in the European Research Area" on June 19, 2025, in Brussels (hybrid format). The event will celebrate the achievements of EU-funded projects in citizen science, share best practices, and contribute to advising future policy. Watch te recording here. 

On June 18, we are celebrating citizen science with the Citizen Science Fair 2025, organised by Scivil, ECS and ECSA.

The Citizen Science Fair is a prelude to the Cluster Event 'Advancing Public Engagement and Citizen Science in the ERA', that will take place on June 19.

The 6th Open Innovation in Science Research Conference will take place from 14 to 16 May 2025 in Vienna and invites discussions on the collaboration between research and industry. New, dynamic forms of collaboration are to be presented and further developed.

On September 12, Scivil organizes a Citizen Science Inspiration and Networking Day which will take place at Lamot in Mechelen. This year, we are organising the networking day in collaboration with FARO, Histories, and the AfricaMuseum. Similar to the previous edition, you can expect an inspiring opening panel, a series of interesting talks and workshops covering various aspects of citizen science, and a pleasant networking lunch, this time with a poster session.

On 23 May 2024 from 11 am to 1 pm (CEST), the Flemish knowledge centre for citizen science, Scivil, is organising an online co-design workshop as a first step in setting up a global repository of citizen science initiatives for hydrology and water management within the Unesco Intergovernmental Hydrological Programme. We cordially invite you to participate. 

On 11 March, we explored how to grow a citizenscience project from a vague idea to a successful outcome. Using the concrete cases of Telraam, Plastic Pirates, Isala and Square Meter: Everyone can be an Archaeologist, we looked for the ingredients for an impactful citizen science project. Moreover, those who have little experience with citizen science joined our 'introduction to citizen science' that preceded the afternoon.

Finally, the time has come! More than three years after our first networking day, we are organizing a new networking and learning event at the BMCC Bruges on November 15. Just like the previous time, we offer you an inspiring keynote speaker, a series of fascinating talks and workshops on different aspects of citizen science and a pleasant networking lunch.
