On Thursday 4 June, a follow‑up meeting will take place in Leuven, building on the workshop “Building citizen science together in Flanders”. Participants will jointly shape the mission, objectives and organisational structure of a new Flemish consultation platform and initiate first concrete actions. Those who did not attend the 21 April workshop but wish to actively contribute to the future of citizen science in Flanders are warmly invited to register.

Are you curious about citizen science and eager to develop your own project idea? During the Starting with Citizen Science workshop, you’ll shape your initial concept into a concrete project plan.

On 21 April 2026, Scivil invites everyone interested in reflecting on the future of citizen science in Flanders. Citizen science is thriving in Flanders, and this strong and diverse landscape offers many opportunities for collective growth. Scivil aims to build sustainable collaborations with the organisations and individuals who make citizen science possible. During this meeting, the first outlines will be developed for how collaboration can take shape in the years ahead.

Do you have an initial idea to apply citizen science to your research, but you’re not sure how to start?
During this workshop, we will explore the possibilities of citizen science for your project together and help you create the first draft of a project plan.

BeCoDigital explores how digital technologies and AI can enhance citizen co-creation in a federal government context. During this final event, KU Leuven, UNamur, and UAntwerpen will share their insights and future plans. The event takes place on Tuesday, December 9, from 13:30 to 16:00 at BeCentral in Brussels.

FARO and Scivil invite you to a hands-on workshop where vague ideas for citizen science grow into a clear and feasible project. During this practical workshop, you will work together with other participants to develop an initial concrete outline for a citizen science project.

On 23 May 2024 from 11 am to 1 pm (CEST), the Flemish knowledge centre for citizen science, Scivil, is organising an online co-design workshop as a first step in setting up a global repository of citizen science initiatives for hydrology and water management within the Unesco Intergovernmental Hydrological Programme. We cordially invite you to participate. 

We believe that the most educational and inspiring way to learn about citizen science is to interact with other enthusiasts. After the success of our previous workshops on common challenges in citizen science, Scivil and Stickydot are organising a series of four thematic workshops in a similar format.
